How the recovery distance estimate works
The calculator locates the centre of each UK postcode and measures the direct distance between them. It then adds a road allowance to produce an indicative one-way distance and a wider planning range. This is useful for an early vehicle-transport estimate, but it cannot see live traffic, diversions, bridges, ferries, height restrictions or the exact pickup entrance.
What changes the real recovery route?
A recovery truck may need to approach from a different direction, use an accessible service area, avoid a restricted road or collect from the safe side of a motorway. Give the exact safe location when requesting a quote, particularly for a breakdown on an A-road or motorway.
Prepare accurate job details
Along with both postcodes, send the vehicle make and model, whether it drives, rolls and selects neutral, wheel or tyre damage, passenger count and when help is needed. These details affect equipment, availability and price.
